THE BSL Admission Procedure
Please follow these simple steps to make an enrolment:
Step 1
Register with the relevant professional body.
Step 2
Read our terms and conditions.
Step 3
Complete a full time application form and return it to us together with your registration and supporting documents.
Please note we will accept your enrolment if you are still in the process of registering with the professional body.
Step 4
Enclose deposit payment and send to The Business School of London.
Step 5
Complete the accommodation and optional insurance form (S), enclose payment and post to the accommodating agency and not to The Business School of London.
Step 6
Await receipt of relevant letters from The Business School of London and the accommodation agency.
Step 7
Apply to the British High Commission for a study visa. In order to apply for a student visa you will need:
- - to complete a visa application form (you can download the form at www.ukvisas.gov.uk)
- - an original unconditional offer letter from The BSL
- - proof of appropriate qualifications
- - proof of available funds to cover your course fees and living expenses whilst in the UK.
Please note that visas usually take between 4 and 8 weeks to process so you need to apply well before the start of your course.

All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions. Registration fee with the Awarding Body and Examination fees are payable separately.
BSL -Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions together with the booking form comprise the agreement pursuant to which BSL provides classroom courses to the student.
- Payment terms
- The enrolment fee of £100.00 is payable once only and is not refundable. All other fees will be refunded in full if proof from the Home Office is provided that a visa application has been rejected except a £100.00 administrative charge.
- Overseas students are required to pay 50% of course fee when they enrol, and for students already in the United Kingdom a minimum deposit of 50% of course fee is required. Payments must be made in accordance with the agreed payment plan as arranged in writing at the
time of enrolment.
- All discounts are at the BSL's discretion, and we reserve the right to cancel all special offers made to students if they fail to pay their fees as agreed with the BSL. Failure to pay a discounted price within the specified time period will make you liable for the fees in full as previously advertised.
Booking forms must be accompanied by payment or the employer's authorisation to be invoiced
directly.
- Where the employer has agreed to pay full payment is due within 30 days of the date of invoice, or within the due date specified on the invoice if courses are booked less than 30 days before the course start date.
- BSL reserves the right to refuse admission to a course if full payment is not received prior to the course start date.
- BSL reserves the right to charge late payment interest at a rate of 5% above the Bank of England base rate on any outstanding invoices.
- Students are charged a £25.00 administrative fee for 'stopped' or 'bounced' cheques.
- If an instalment plan has been agreed, the student must provide post-dated cheques or agree to their credit card being charged with any outstanding balances on the agreed dates.
- BSL will retain any passports of students until they clear their outstanding fees if it emerges that the application to the Home Office was made through the BSL and if the passport is still in our possession. We may further choose to contact the Home Office and inform them your position at our discretion if we feel that you have made commitments that you are clearly unable to meet.
- Course booking
- Course start dates, course curriculum and programs may be subject to change.
Where a student is unable to commence the course on time, the student (or agent) must contact the BSL to arrange another commencement date. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure that the selected course is appropriate for their needs.
- Any change in the students' contact details must be notified in writing.
- BSL does not accept responsibility for registering students with professional bodies or entry for the relevant exams.
- Course fees are not transferable to another student or another institution.
BSL has the right to cancel courses at short notice if registered students are less than five in a particular course. Where the BSL is unable to provide a course for which the student has enrolled, course fees will be refunded in full.
- Cancellation and deferral
- If a student wishes to cancel a course:
Written notice is required for a student's course cancellation. Cancellation charges are
- 10% of course fee for notice of more than 70 days - equivalent to a 90% refund
- 30% of course fee for notice of between 28 and 70 days - equivalent to a 70% refund
- 100% of course fee for notice of less than 28 days - no refund
Course fees will not be refunded after the commencement of any one of the courses in which the student has enrolled at the BSL.
- If a student wishes to defer to a later course:
- provided more than 14 days notice prior to the course start date is given and subject to availability, no additional charge will be made, other than for any new study materials that may be required.
- Within 14 days of the course start date, no refund will be given, i.e. the new course fee will be payable in full.
- Course attendance
- Students must bring the relevant course joining instructions to all course sessions. Failure to produce joining instructions or proof of payment upon request may result in students being refused admission to a course.
- BSL may supply all study materials upon payment the price of the materials on the first day of the course. If students wish to receive study materials in advance they may arrange to collect them or have them posted to any UK address subject to a charge of £5.00 per item.
- BSL reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or change the location of a course without penalty if considered necessary. BSL undertakes to inform students as soon as the change is made and students may book an alternative course at no extra charge, or receive a full refund or credit against future courses.
- Accommodation
- £75 arrangement fee will be charged for any accommodation arranged by the college on behalf of a student.
- We are only obligated to arrange accommodation at one of the local agencies as advertised on our listed local Estate agencies.
- Prices may vary time to time, and full details about prices can be obtained by contacting the college directly or by getting in touch with one of the BSL's recommended Estate agents.
You must pay a minimum of four weeks rent deposit in advance.
- Students must make payments for accommodation directly to the College when booking a course. All rooms are subject to availability. BSL cannot guarantee prices at time of booking.
- Confidentiality
- All intellectual property rights in all materials produced or distributed by BSL are expressly reserved. Any unauthorised duplication, publication or distribution is prohibited.
- The student agrees to fully indemnify BSL in respect of any infringement of intellectual property right.
- Success Guarantee-NO PASS NO FEE
- BSL success guarantee applies to all students who:
- attend all relevant course sessions of both course and revision courses for each relevant paper;
- attempt no more than 4 papers in any one sitting;
- achieve a minimum of 60% in the Mock exam.
- In the event that a student fails an exam having satisfied the conditions in 7.1 they may attend the next available equivalent course for the relevant paper at no additional charge, subject to availability at time of booking. Additional study materials will be charged at full retail price.
- The success guarantee is not transferable between students.
- Overseas students
- Students who require a student visa in order to attend BSL's courses must ensure that they meet their visa requirements and must book a minimum of 3 subjects per term.
- Overseas students are required to pay a minimum payment of 50% of course fee when they enrol and for students already in the United Kingdom a minimum deposit of 50% of course fee is required. The balance is due on or before the first day of the first course. Payments must be made in accordance with the agreed payment plan as agreed in writing at the time of enrolment. All discounts are at the BSL's discretion, and BSL reserve the right to cancel all special offers made to students if they fail to pay their fees as agreed with the BSL. Failure to pay a discounted price within the specified time period will make you liable for the fees in full as previously advertised.
- In the event that a student's visa application (appeal process completed) is refused, any course fees paid will be refunded less a £100 administration charge, provided a written request for a refund is received at least 14 days prior to the course start date, together with a copy of the visa refusal letter and a copy of the student's passport showing the student's personal details.
- Students are responsible for ensuring that their attendance is recorded as evidence of attendance as per Home Office requirements. BSL reserves the right to report any non-attendance to the British Immigration Authorities and to remove a student from a course for non-attendance with no entitlement to a refund.
- Students requiring letters to support a visa renewal or extension must enrol on a full time course for the period covering their visa extension and have paid any deposit due.
- No refunds will be given if a course has already commenced and a visa refusal letter is not produced.
- University of London & Oxford Brookes University students
- Students applying for the University of London External Programme should be aware that additional registration and examination fees will be payable to the University of London. For more information on course fee, please visit : www.londonexternal.ac.uk
Mentoring sessions must take place within 12 months of the invoice date.
- BSL does not accept responsibility for students who fail to submit their Project within the time specified by Oxford Brookes University or ACCA.
- Liability
- The liability of BSL for direct losses arising out of their negligence (other than in respect of liability for death or personal injury), breach of contract or any other cause of action arising out of or in connection with this agreement is limited to the value of monies received from the student (or their employer) for the course.
BSL accepts no responsibility for the provision of services agreed with a third party for which no course fees have been paid in advance to the BSL
- BSL shall not be liable for any consequential or indirect loss, how so-ever arising.
- Security
- BSL accepts no responsibility for anything that is lost or stolen from its premises. Personal possessions are the sole responsibility of the student and students are advised to keep valuable belongings with them at all times.
- Data Protection
- The student agrees to allow BSL to retain information and use it to:
- communicate with the student to perform their rights and obligations under this agreement;
- inform students about their courses, products and services which may be of interest to them;
- provide feedback to students on their progress and exam performance
- communicate with the student's employer regarding their progress, results and attendance.
- If the student does not wish to receive correspondence from BSL a written request should be made to the registered office.
- Validity
- If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable the remaining provisions shall not be affected and shall be carried out as closely as possible according to the original intent.
- Dispute & Jurisdiction
- The BSL acknowledges the right of a student to involve independent third parties for the resolution of disputes.
- This agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the law of England and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts for the determination of disputes arising under this agreement
